Before installing the Unichip tuning software you must Disable the UAC on a PC
Before installing the Unichip Tuning software on a Vista computer you must turn off the User Account Control (UAC). If you don’t turn of the (UAC) you might get a Access Violation Error. These errors are caused by Windows Vista (UAC) which prevents some of the DLL’s to install properly.
Detailed instruction to turn off UAC in Windows Vista.
1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. In Control Panel, click on Add or remove User Accounts.
3. Even though it seems redundant, click the resulting User Accounts again
4. In the User Accounts tasks window, click Turn User Account Control on or off.
5. Uncheck the box to Clear the Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer check box, and then click OK.
6. Press OK and restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
7. Here are some of the warnings you might get from Windows with the UAC turned off.
8. To repair the Unichip Tuning software go to add and remove programs, find the Dastek Uniq file. Double click on the Dastek Uniq icon.
